Data Analysis

The Ask
I was approached by our internal design team to help in interpreting, defining and asking for data from a Fortune 100 client, Philips Oral Healthcare. The design team was working toward providing ideas and solutions for an app update, turning a successful product from a North American to a global audience. Their evaluation included sales, design, engagement, experience and technology challenges. The market data that had been gathered over the previous year was essential in their decision making and the presentation of these ideas. The problem, they kept running into confusing data or irrelevant (to design) findings.

The Outcome
All of the design and development changes that were proposed, were accepted. The client even added in some"extra" items because of their possible positive impact on the engagement. All teams involved were able to immediately take action, because the data gathered was utilized to define exact points where things should stay or change and why.

A few weeks after this very successful effort, our clients global office contact SI to work with their data team. They were looking for consultation in defining their structure and communication of data.

My Role
My role throughout the project was the expert in data, customer insights/advocate and communications. This meant I needed to know, in great detail, our client's business goals to marry it with design and development goals. This required a heightened awareness of communication to all parties, while constantly keeping in check that I was representing the consumer in the best way for the projects success.
