Heidi Schindler

Heidi, yup, like the book. “Heidi” my favorite story growing up, especially being a country girl of South Dakota and mountains sounded pretty magical.

I am a leader in Research focused on human behavior for digital experiences by implementing methods from UX, Design Strategy and innovation.

I have worked cross industry, cross-disciplines and am interdisciplinary. Starting as a visual designer transitioned to service design for corporate architecture projects. Then transitioned to a Strategist for Bluetooth connected devices to transition to UX research for digital experiences. I share this career path because I have spearheaded and seen that Research can be applied to all sorts of projects. Most projects require making something for someone, which means we need to know who we are making it for.

I currently work at Amazon, for Amazon Photos. Yes, it is a Prime benefit and you can store your photos for free, with a subscription option for videos. Yes, it is an app for your phone. I thrive and value growth. I am currently building this knowledge: triangulation of BI data sets with UX research insights; enhancing my awareness of DEI and awareness of my internal biases to advocate; building a mature Research practice for an organization.
